Academic Integrity & Responsible Use Policy

Effective date: 01/01/2025

At Auzyem, we believe that learning happens through reflection, critical thinking and continual improvement. Our platform has been designed to support these principles by providing constructive feedback that helps users strengthen their own academic work.

This Policy explains how the Service should and should not be used.

1. Our Educational Purpose

The Service provides automated academic feedback intended to help users evaluate and improve the quality of their own writing.

The Service is designed to encourage independent learning by identifying areas where a manuscript may be strengthened, including matters such as:

  • clarity of argument
  • logical structure
  • critical analysis
  • evidence and supporting material
  • coherence and organisation
  • academic writing quality

The Service is intended to complement, not replace, the learning process.

2. What the Service Does Not Do

The Service is not designed to:

  • write assignments
  • generate dissertations
  • complete coursework
  • produce essays on behalf of users
  • replace academic supervision
  • provide answers for assessments
  • circumvent institutional academic integrity policies

Users remain the sole author of all submitted work.

3. Your Responsibilities

When using the Service you agree that you will:

  • submit only work that you are authorised to upload
  • use the feedback to improve your own understanding
  • exercise independent academic judgement
  • ensure your use of the Service complies with the policies of your university or educational institution

You remain solely responsible for all work submitted for assessment.

4. Academic Integrity

Many educational institutions have policies governing the use of artificial intelligence and other digital tools.

It is your responsibility to understand and comply with the academic integrity requirements applicable to your course, institution and jurisdiction.

Use of the Service does not imply that any university, college or educational institution approves or endorses its use.

5. Responsible Use

The Service should be used as a developmental learning resource.

Examples of appropriate use include:

  • reviewing an early draft before supervisor feedback
  • identifying weaknesses in argument or structure
  • improving critical analysis
  • strengthening academic writing skills
  • preparing for submission

The Service should not be used to misrepresent authorship or falsely represent work as independently created where this would breach institutional rules.

6. Prohibited Use

You must not use the Service to:

  • facilitate plagiarism
  • impersonate another student or author
  • submit work on behalf of another person without authorisation
  • infringe copyright
  • upload malicious software
  • upload unlawful, offensive or harmful material
  • interfere with the operation or security of the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts involved in prohibited activities.

7. Accuracy of Feedback

Feedback generated by the Service is produced using artificial intelligence and automated analysis.

While we strive to provide high-quality educational feedback:

  • feedback may not identify every issue
  • reasonable academics may hold different opinions
  • feedback should not be regarded as definitive or authoritative

The Service should be used alongside your own judgement and any guidance provided by your educational institution.

8. Confidentiality of Your Work

We recognise that academic work often represents many months of research and personal effort.

Subject to our Privacy Policy, uploaded manuscripts are processed securely and are not published or made publicly available by us.

Users should avoid uploading material containing confidential information belonging to third parties unless authorised to do so.

9. Reporting Concerns

If you believe the Service has produced inappropriate, inaccurate or harmful feedback, or if you believe another user is misusing the Service, please contact us.

We continually improve the Service and welcome responsible feedback.

10. Our Commitment

We are committed to developing technology that supports education responsibly.

Our goal is to help users become stronger writers, more critical thinkers and more confident researchers, while respecting academic integrity and the standards of educational institutions worldwide.
